This was our debut album. We'd been together about a year and we'd been rehearsing and gigging like mad around Los Angeles.

Marc Brown and Mark Quinn are Humboldt Squid. We formed in LA back in 2003!! Back then there was a huge squid die-off and ... more thousands washed up on the shore in Long Beach. That's how we got our name. We love playing music together. We had some amazing shows last year and we are going to have some great ones this year. We will also be releasing an EP and our "lost" record, Fantasticum. Share the love less

With my feet flat I get going so fast. Relax, I don't need this bad. Switch stance I'd be on my ass but I am on my feet flying through the trees. Nothing can touch me. Dogs don't watch television (*actually some do, but whatever). They don't mess with indecision much. They know what they need: LOVE, and food. When I was twelve years old I move to California - so windy and so cold! It isn't like they tell you. Since '94 it's been more and more and something I never did before isn't novel anymore is my life just sick decay or am I on the path anyway? Anyway, the sun burned out so we can't stay unless another source is found for light and heat and sunshine because I can't live without sunshine. I met a bitter faced guy with the face like pony scheming local girls with a foreign kind of phone. He said he saw a girl who was checking him out. I didn't say a thing but expressed my doubt. The same fucking day I met a chick from France smoking cigarettes in her dirty French pants. She said she wants to be a Santa Cruz girl so I took her hand and showed her my world. She was out of her element. We are out of our element.

I'm floating down the L.A. river with my hopes and dreams in Los Angeles. I sold my soul to the lowest bidder who took my trees now I can't breath so I lie awake at night and I'm still awake because Planet Earth is still alive. There was always war and strife. I've heard about the death of god and I've read Kant and Kierkegaard so I lie awake at night. I'm still awake but I won't have to kill myself because I'm already dead. Ever since I got here I've had bullets in my head so take me by the balls and let's see how hard we can fall. I hope that you will see why I have answered to your call so I can flow into the sea.

My skull has served me well. I need the brain it holds but it's too hard to stop the flow of foolish thought. Down the tubes we go alone we are unknown. Life goes by. Where does it go?
